Statistically proven by baratricians, it's known that 90 million American adults are corpulent. Their bodies are filled with flabby tissues which come from under exercising and carrying too much weight. Information like this may not be new, but added to it is that among these fat folk 46 million of them have high blood pressure. Statistics report 160,000 will die this year from stroke, plus 50 million of the same group suffer from various forms of arthritis. And 160,000 will die this year from stroke. Being soft, fat, hypertensive, stiff-jointed, and in danger of major or minor transient ischemic attacks leaves these unfortunates prone to hernia, back trouble, heart attack, blood flow blockage to the brain, immune suppression, and a variety of degenerative diseases. Such illnesses are the primary killers in our nation of overeaters, and they derive directly or indirectly from weaknesses at the cellular level.
So, what's the main reason for one third of the US. population being in an advanced state of deterioration? It's high technology which has been furnishing us with many daily hours of television watching, telephone talking, computer gaming, and additional ultramodern conveniences. Technological marvels have made it easy for couch potatoes to lay around without undertaking any physical activity except for pushing buttons. Hardly moving is bringing on problems of pathology or killing us altogether!
The odd thing is that most people in bad shape know their condition and do want to get healthier. The fitness industry has capitalized on this desire. Equipment manufacturers and other entrepreneurs in the sporting goods industry have developed loads of extracurricular techniques for home use. Their various cleverly marketed pieces of equipment offer many methods of movement which apply weight or stress to specific body parts, generally by opposing gravity. Examples include: (a) commercial upright and recumbent cycles, (b) low-impact treadmills, (c) elliptical. fitness crosstrainers, (d) strength trainers, (e) lower arm and upper arm curling benches, (e) rowing machines, (f) incline/decline benches, (g) leg extenders, (h) bicep/tricep machines, (i) stairclimbers, and numerous additional types of equipment which act against gravity. All of them are doing the exact same thing. The machines place weight or stress against certain limited muscle groups which are individualized and separated from the body's other muscles. But muscle tissues are comprised of cells. Applying weight to a muscle causes the cell to expand. The increase of weight against the cell membrane causes a cell to fortify its membrane with more protein. Such a cell membrane grows stronger and larger and hence the exerciser gains muscle mass and tone.
Would it not be more advantageous to set gravitational weight against all of the human frame's cells in unison? Providing overall physical stress in a multi-exercise would act to strengthen every muscle, connective tissue, ligament, tendon, collagen, etc. at the same time. Isn't that better? Definitely, the answer is YES! An exercise program which ordinarily might take forty minutes to target individual body parts is now accomplished in just ten minutes. And this article describes just such a program.
What's needed is a single means of movement that provides all of the benefits of regular exercise without causing trauma to the musculoskeletal system. It must be a program that builds up rather than tears down. Using it, each of the body's 80 trillion cells would be subjected to the subtle effects of regular cellular exercise-a physiological action which informed persons might be labeling Cellercise®.
Cellercising has been developed and registered by David W. Hall of Provo, Utah. When you Cellercise®, instead of moving weight away from gravity, as in the typical exercise, in effect you increase gravitational weight so that the stress is no longer limited to certain muscle groups or body parts but now it applies to the entire body. Every cell is exercised, every cell is cellercised by a Cellerciser®.
