About Us
The Radiant Life Company was founded in 1996 from a passion to explore our highest potential for wellness, and to share our findings with others. We began as a local, part-time endeavor in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our research and teaching on discoveries of radiant health were greatly informed by the concepts of vegetarianism and vegan live foods. We were inspired by the ecological promises of these diets which, we believed, also offered the greatest renewal for human health. Despite our convictions, escalating health problems after a combined 22 years of devout vegetarianism led to a profound openness to new information, and it was into that void that the research of Dr. Weston A. Price entered. The work of this pioneering dentist and health researcher exploded our understanding of nutrition. His cross-cultural studies of traditional peoples throughout the world revealed that humans had enjoyed robust health for millennia, eating native diets informed by cultural wisdom passed down from generation to generation. Most illuminating—strict vegetarianism (devoid of all animal foods) was historically unprecedented where healthy generations thrived.
We were faced with a choice: we could continue as before, assured in our beliefs of which we had invested so much time and energy, or we could question everything and let the chips fall where they may. We decided that the truth, and our health, were more important than consistency.
After a period of research, experimentation, and integration, we were well on the road back to real health. Among the many signals that eating the way of our ancestors was working: hair stopped falling out, severe hypoglycemia improved dramatically, energy improved and we regained our normal weight. Had our story been unique, we would have stopped there. But it wasn’t. Everywhere we looked, we learned of others’ transformations through returning to the wise food choices of our ancestors. Babies were conceived after years of unsuccessful attempts, eyesight improved, lifetime allergies disappeared, chronic fatigue dissipated, bone and joint problems improved, mood disorders corrected—for most, after trying countless other avenues for health recovery.
In 1999 we created the Radiant Life Wellness Catalog, committed to sharing the extraordinary work of the Weston A. Price Foundation and the wisdom of our ancestors. When we began almost 10 years ago, soy was king, low-fat was an unquestioned religion, vegetarianism was the absolute ideal, and the cholesterol myths were everywhere. What changes we have seen in five short years!
Radiant health is our birthright. This is the core truth of Dr. Price’s discoveries, and the fire in the belly of our company. The realization of the health we were designed for depends not on the latest prescription, or on the newest expert, or on the latest diet, but rather on our embrace of something very ancient.
