The water in the upper chamber passes through the Doulton® SuperSterasyl™filter candle into the lower chamber where the filtered water is collected. Filtered water in an emergency!

Gravity filtration is an excellent choice for those looking to improve their drinking water with a highly portable, simple to use system requiring no installation to existing plumbing. The very attractive stainless steel device rests comfortably on any counter top.

A gravity filter enables you to have filtered drinking water on tap. Water is poured manually into the upper chamber. It passes through the filter candles under pressure of gravity into the lower chamber where the filtered water can be accessed via a tap on the front of the filter. Made from high grade polished stainless steel, the SS Gravity Filter is a portable, robust model, which is easy to keep hygienically clean. The SS is very popular with aid organizations and private customers alike particularly in emergency and survival situations.

The pore structure of the ceramic filters inside is designed to remove very fine particles and bacteria. Can be used camping, around the house or where there is no municipally treated water. The gravity feed system also works when water pressure is too low for other filters. The "Super Sterasyl" filters used in both systems, reduce up to 99.99% of, cysts, parasites and pathogenic bacteria including but not limited to E. Coli, Cryptosporidium, Giardia and Salmonella Typhi. Additionally, these filters will reduce chlorine, rust, sediment and organic chemicals. Please be advised however that this system is not a purifier but only a simple filter. It will not remove viruses, fluoride, arsenic or any heavy metals. The durable ceramic filters can be cleaned many times with a soft brush or Scotch Brite pad before needing replacement and the filter media in this product contains an effective antimicrobial agent. Each filter element will provide efficient pathogenic filtration up to 2000 gallons depending on water quality.

The 2 filter model, Item 7230, produces approximately 10 gallons of clean water in 24 hours.
