Traditional Method

Krill are caught by trawling and then dumped on board the vessel. This process inadvertently captures and kills fish, mammals, turtles and birds. Once out of the water, fast acting enzymes within the krill begin digesting the krill immediately causing them to quickly spoil and perish. The krill is then flash frozen and shipped to processing facilities thousands of miles away using ethanol, acetone and ethyl acetate to extract the oil.

Our Method

Krill are eco-harvested via a fishing system which remains under water while a continuous stream of water flows through a hose transporting the live krill inside the factory vessel. This system utilizes special screens so only krill and ocean water are able to enter. Before the krill begin to decompose, they are exposed to nitrogen to prevent oxidation of key components. The extraction process utilizes water and a naturally occurring grain alcohol that is more environmentally friendly than other solvents.

Unlike fish oil, the Omega-3 fatty acids in Radiant Life Krill Oil are absorbed and carried to the body's cell in phospholipid form. Since phospholipids form the structural basis of cell membranes, they are effectively utilized by the body.

Colostrum is the pre-milk fluid produced by all mammalian mothers for the first few days after giving birth. (Its composition is very different than milk and most people with milk allergies have no problem with it.) Bovine Colostrum has been found to have virtually identical immune and growth factors as human colostrum.

Colostrum naturally contains a broad range of amazing immune boosters: immunoglobulins, your first line of defense (IgA, IgF and IgM), hormones, enzymes, growth factors, peptides, and nucleotides. A. No, it is casein free.

Q. Can I take colostrum if I'm lactose intolerant?
A. Colostrum is a food containing extremely low levels of lactose. So low in fact that most individuals with lactose issues should not experience difficulty with colostrum. Some have even reported that they no longer have lactose intolerance issues. It's critical however that the colostrum being consumed is 100% "first milking" colostrum collected within the first 8 hours after birth. It should also be colostrum that is unprocessed, never defatted or with added ingredients.

Q. Can children take colostrum as well?
A. Absolutely! Remember, colostrum is a whole food and has no contraindications. It is the perfect form of supplementation for helping children have healthy immune systems and provides the nutrition for successful development of their other essential systems.

Q. Are there any added ingredients?
A. The powdered version has nothing added. The capsules contain kosher gelatin.

Q. Does the harvesting of the colostrum mean that the calves are deprived?
A. The calves receive enough colostrum, typically about 2 quarts, for their own needs.
