One question we often get is whether this will create drinking quality water. The answer is typically no - because in most cities there are so many other toxins that to remove all of them you really need a dedicated purification unit such as our 14-Stage drinking water system. Many companies are claiming that their whole house filters are creating drinking quality water but after having researched those claims we have not found one that could deliver.

The ideal system for one's home is the whole house water filtration system at the point of entry (i.e. basement, garage) and then the Radiant Life 14-Stage drinking water system at the point of use (generally kitchen but can be installed in the basement). How does the Crystal Ball Bath Dechlorinator work?

When water comes in contact with the media filaments inside the fabric pouch, the chlorine ions in the water are converted into a harmless chloride. The toxic effects of chlorine, chloramine, and chlorine gas are eliminated with the aid of KDF Formula 73, available exclusively through this product. More chlorine is removed faster when there is adequate circulation of the Crystal Ball in the water.

Quartz crystals mixed with the media filaments reduce the molecular structure of the water into smaller clusters, thereby allowing enhanced sudsing and lathering of soap.

The bath water is healthier and feels better. Your skin can return to its natural organic balance.

How easy is it to use?

You dechlorinate your bath water with the Crystal Ball by placing it into the tub and pulling it through the water with the attached 12-inch cord for a few minutes. As chlorinated water flows through the filament the dissimilar metals in KDF, (copper and zinc), create a galvinic or electrolytic reaction which causes the two chlorine ions to form a harmless chloride.

In addition to the KDF filament, the Crystal Ball also uses a specially washed and sun dried quartz crystals to help "energize" the water by reducing the water's surface tension. This allows for an increase in sudsing and lathering of soaps and shampoos. As a result, the water has a "lighter" feel, similar to the feeling of a softened water.

Doulton water filters are among the most famous and well-respected in the world today. Created originally to quell outbreaks of cholera in 19th century England, the Doulton ceramic filter has evolved to meet the needs of the 21st century. A variety of systems are available which utilize combinations of ceramic, carbon, bacteriostatic silver, and other media to address specific problems such as chlorine, lead, fluoride, parasites and other microorganisms, bad taste, odors, and sediment. Although the Doulton will not provide the highly polished and purified water of our 14-Stage Biocompatible Water System, some find this type of filtration desirable if their water is known to have desirable organic minerals, and because of its simple installation, low-cost maintenance, and portability.

Single, Double & Triple Chamber Systems
A single-chamber Doulton filter is a good choice for people whose primary concern with their water involves chlorine and/or parasites. The single chamber system is equipped with an Ultra-Carb Filter. The Ultra-Carb Filter removes cysts such as cryptosporidium and giardia and other solid matter, the carbon core removes chlorine and other unpleasant tastes and odors, and the system also works to remove toxic lead. However, for those living in communities that have fluoridated their water supply, we highly advise adding a second chamber with a Fluoride Filter to the Ultra-Carb as the Ultra-Carb filter alone (see below) does not filter out fluoride/chloramines. A third chamber can be added with a specialized filter if excessive heavy metals, hydrogen sulfide or other difficult to remove chemicals are present.

Ultra-Carb Filter:
The Doulton Ceramic shell provides absolute mechanical filtration, with 99.999% rejection of pathogenic bacteria and cysts. Bacteria and any other foreign particles as small as 0.2 of a micron are trapped on the outside of the element while the water passes through the ceramic wall to the inside of the element. Eliminates Cholera, Typhoid, Salmonella, Serratia, E. Coli, Fecal Coliform, Cyrpotsporidium, giardia lamblia, etc. In addition, it has bacteriostatic oligodynamic silver bonded to the ceramic, a self-sterilizing material which prevents bacteria build-up. The filter also removes chlorine by 97.2%, and reduces pesticides, solvents, and heavy metals, including lead.

Doulton systems come in under-counter and countertop models. The Under-Counter System helps you to keep your counter free, and allows you to draw your water from a convenient spigot next to the kitchen faucet. Includes all the fittings for under-counter installation. If you're handy you can do this yourself, or call a plumber. Does not address chloramines. Filter life is typically twelve months, depending on usage. Special filters are available for removing excessive heavy metals, MTBE, strong odors, elevated chemical content, and nitrates.
