Q. Why is maltodextrin added?
A. The NOW company maintains that to retard spoilage of the acerola cherries during drying, it needs to add a bit of corn or rice-based maltodextrin. It is not added as a sweetener and is a very small amount. The maltodextrin does not contain MSG.
