Radiant Life Krill Oil contains 100% pure
oil from Antarctic Krill (Euphausia Superba), providing optimal amounts of Omega-3 fatty acids bound to phospholipids and critical antioxidants including astaxanthin. Unlike other krill oils, our oil does not contain fish oils or other non-krill additives. In addition, ours is an environmentally friendly krill oil produced via a new high tech method that:
- prevents krill decomposition and degrading
- prevents the death of non-krill species
- precludes the use of dangerous solvents and its polluting side effects
- utilizes less energy consumption by stopping the transporting of unprocessed frozen krill
- causes no solvent residues in final product
- ensures sustainable practices in the Antarctic Ocean
Krill are caught by trawling and then dumped on board the vessel. This process inadvertently captures and kills fish, mammals, turtles and birds. Once out of the water, fast acting enzymes within the krill begin digesting the krill immediately causing them to quickly spoil and perish. The krill is then flash frozen and shipped to processing facilities thousands of miles away using either acetone or ethyl acetate to extract the oil.
Krill are eco-harvested via a fishing system which remains under water while a continuous stream of water flows through a hose transporting the live krill inside the factory vessel. This system utilizes special screens so only krill and ocean water are able to enter. Before the krill begin to decompose, they are exposed to nitrogen to prevent oxidation of key components. The extraction process utilizes water and a naturally occurring grain alcohol (ethanol) that is more environmentally friendly than other solvents.
Unlike fish oil, the Omega-3 fatty acids in Radiant Life Krill Oil are absorbed and carried to the body's cell in phospholipid form. Since phospholipids form the structural basis of cell membranes, they are effectively utilized by the body.
"One of the best sources of omega-3 fatty acids is krill oil. Krill is a small shrimp-like crustacean considered a delicacy and source of protein in Japan. It's abundant in EPA and DHA and has vitamins A and E. The best krill oil to get is from Antarctica...The phospholipids in krill oil seem to be absorbed better into the brain and work better for ADHD than conventional fish oils. Krill oil has also been shown to benefit brain, cardiovascular and vision development, and may even help joint function and the symptoms associated with PMS."

Q. What is Krill?
A. Krill are a tiny, shrimp-like crustacean found throughout the world's oceans, the purest of which are sourced from the Antarctic. Krill are extremely low within the food chain feeding primarily on phytoplankton. It is believed that krill comprise the largest biomass on the planet.
Q. Why should I take Krill Oil?
A. Our Radiant Life Krill Oil is the purest of Antarctic krill. It provides an optimal combination of Omega-3 fatty acids (DHA and EPA) as well as phospholipids and important antioxidants to support overall wellness.
Q. Why would I take Krill oil if already taking fish oil and/or cod liver oil?
A. The Omega-3 in krill oil is mainly in the phospholipid form which research suggests is preferred to Omega-3 in the triglyceride form as it occurs in fish oil and cod liver oil. Phospholipid fatty acids represent key structural components of our cells and play a vital role in cell membrane functioning and thus the overall functioning of our cells, tissues and organs.
Q. Tell me more about the antioxidant nature of Krill oil?
A. Powerful antioxidants including Astaxanthan are found in krill oil. These have found to be effective and potent weapons in fighting free radicals. Research has suggested that the antioxidants in krill oil are 48 times greater than the antioxidants within fish oil.
Q. Should I refrigerate it?
A. NO! Refrigerating krill oil is not advisable and is not necessary to maintain its stability.
Q. What does it taste like?
A. Some oils taste very strong. Ours is encapsulated with an organic lemon oil coating which makes it easy to ingest and digest.
Q. Why should I buy krill oil from Radiant Life when I can find it elsewhere?
A. Not all krill oil is alike. We ensure that our Krill oil is not only the purest available but produced in a sustainable, environmentally-friendly way. Please read more under the Description tab.
