These sardines (Sardina pilchardus), are wild caught in the Northern Atlantic Ocean. They are caught using traditional fishing methods. Once harvested, these top quality sardines are in the can within hours of being fished from the sea. The process involves manual cleaning and very careful handling, followed by the traditional cooking in a grill oven before being canned. Only extra virgin or pure olive oil is used in the different sauces.
These sardines are uncommonly flavorful and an excellent source of protein, vitamins, calcium and polyunsaturated fatty acid omega-3. Great as a starter, hors d'oeuvres, with pasta, pizza, salads or a gourmet sandwich.

Q. Is the product raw?
A. No. As with most canned fish, Cole's products are "cooked" to sterilize the product at approx 350°F for 18-26 minutes.
Bought these to help raise my seafood intake during pregnancy since we live very far from any ocean. They are meaty and tasty, without that way-too-salty flavor or stench I had remembered from supermarket sardines. Hubby says they would be worth packing in his lunch box. Our two- and four-year-olds love them as well!
